Athanassios ILIADIS was born in Athens, Greece, in 1950. He obtained his engineering diploma from the National Technical University of Athens in 1973. He did his graduate studies in Electronics and Automatic Control in Grenoble, France, and obtained his Ph.D. ès Physical Sciences from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble in 1980. Presently, he is professor in the School of Pharmacy, Marseilles, and is working in the field of Fundamental Pharmacokinetics.

A. Iliadis has wide experience in the use of the system and control theory techniques for processing of data gathered from individual or population pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies. At this time, his research is focused on nonparametric estimation of multivariate densities, development of self-learning techniques for population analysis, analysis of nonlinear differential equations, fractal geometry and kinetics, and drug interaction dynamics. His applied pharmacokinetic studies concern mainly cancer chemotherapy. A. Iliadis is also interested in the development of softwares implementing the tools he developed. He is currently professor of Modeling and Pharmacometrics at the University of Méditerranée, Marseille and he teaches advanced courses on Fundamental Pharmacokinetics.
